Ornage mock rib raglan framed

'Holey' Raglan

An elegant cardigan using holding position and 3/1 mock rib to create the holey effect in the raglan shaping.

The button above will direct you to my online store at Atherton Dance Centre/Cachet. Please ask for Pattern A when you get to checkout.

ABOUT THE PATTERN

The pattern has full instruction, so is suitable for a beginner who is able to create 1/1 rib and hook up an edge or stitches on waste yarn on to the machine.

The holding position shaping means the body and sleeves are created in one piece.

The upper and lower sleeve seams, and the side seams, are joined on the machine to give an accurate near invisible join. The band can also be joined on the machine.

The last example was created by using the end needles selection facility available on Brother and some other machines to create dramatic 3D Fairisle stripes - only for more experienced knitters.

EQUIPMENT

Suitable for all chunky machines with ribber. I used a Brother KH260. Could also be made on a mid-gauge machine at a higher tension.

SIZING

Sizes 32 to 40 inch bust.

MATERIALS

The pattern is suitable for Double Knit gauge yarn.

Examples 1 & 2 used Sirdar No 1 double knit acrylic yarn.

Example 3 used standard double knit acrylic yarn - in this case Korbond available from Sainsbury's.
